Memorial ceremony due to the 16th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy was held at the Romania Office of Heydar Aliyev Foundation

Members of Romania-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, Azerbaijan-Romania Culture and Youth Association, Romania-Azerbaijan Industry and Trade Chamber, employees of Romania Office of SOCAR, Azeris living and studying in Romania, reps of Turk-Tatar community, diplomatic corps and mass media attended the ceremony.

 

Assessing Khojaly tragedy as an unforgettable, terrible and bloody page in the history of Azerbaijan Ambassador Eldar Hasanov talked of the massacre committed by Armenians, said these atrocities committed in Khojaly is the crime against the universe.  

 

Director of Romania Office of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Igbal Hajiyev, counselor of the Embassy Tural Rzayev, members of Romania-Azerbaijan Industry and Trade Chamber, Azeris living in Romania talked of brutalities of Khojaly tragedy.


Documentary on Khojaly tragedy and book ‘War against Azerbaijan: Targeting the Cultural Heritage’ about occupied territories of Azerbaijan and our cultural resources in Armenia, developed by Foreign Ministry due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, were shown in the event.

 

Participants were familiarized with exhibition ‘Khojaly in the Eye of Children’, showing the horrors of Khojaly tragedy, presented by Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

Attendees of the memorial ceremony were provided with booklet ‘Realities of Garabagh’ and book ‘Khojaly genocide (in documents, facts and foreign press)’ developed by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, books ‘Khojaly tragedy’, published on the initiative of the Embassy in Romanian language, and ‘Armenian mythomania’ by Austrian writer Eric Figle, and other information.

 

Press release the Embassy made due to the 16th anniversary of Khojaly tragedy was sent to the embassies in Romania, international organizations, public bodies, NGOs, mass media.

 

Romanian newspapers as ‘Replika’, ‘Hayat’, ‘Zaman’, ‘Gurbetchi’, ‘Anayurt’ covered articles dedicated to Khojaly genocide, TV channels OTV, DDTV, radio ‘Radio Bucharest International’ broadcasted news.
