Scientific and practical conference "Justice for Khojaly" held by the Office of Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Russia and Azerbaijan Consulate General

Scientific and practical conference "Justice for Khojaly" due to the 19th anniversary of Khojaly genocide, the bloodiest tragedy of XX century, was held at the M.Gorki Culture House in St Petersburg by the Office of Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Russia and Azerbaijan Consulate General, February 25.

 

The conference was held with participation of over 600 Azerbaijanis, representatives of the city public, lecturers from a number of universities, businessmen, Azerbaijani students and media representatives.

 

The event featured a presentation of books "Garabagh Diary” by famous Russian writer, Professor Yuri Pompeyev and 'Confession of an Armenian intellectual' by Robert Arakelov, as well a photo exhibition showing the massacre committed in Khojaly. The participants received booklet "The Truth about Garabagh” prepared by Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

Consul General Gudsi Osmanov gave detailed information on the international campaign “Justice for Khojaly” initiated by Leila Aliyeva, the General Coordinator of OIC Youth Forum for Intercultural Dialogue, and the resolution adopted by OIC Parliamentary Union.

 

Delegate of Representative Office of Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Russia, post graduate of Moscow State International Relations University Natig Aliyev talked of works done by the Representative Office within campaign “Justice for Khojaly”.

 

Representative of Azerbaijan’s Milli Mejlis at CIS Parliamentary Assembly Aydin Jafarov said all resources will be used to deliver the realities on Khojaly genocide to the world, Azerbaijanis living abroad, specially youth and students will never forget this bloody page of our history.

 

Updated site www.justiceforkhojaly.org was presented in the conference.  

 

The conference adopted Declaration calling on influential international institutions to legally assess the crime committed in Khojaly.  

 

Representatives of Russian mass media, including “Argumenty i fakty” newspaper, “REN TV” TV channel and ITAR-TASS news agency were present in the event.
