Secondary School No.59 in Khatai district

The new building of Secondary School No.59 named after Tahir Baghyrov in Khatai district of Baku was constructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

Due to the school’s old building - constructed in 1936 – wearing out and becoming unfit for use, works on basic renovation and reconstruction of the school was launched in 2024. The education institution was commissioned in 2025.

 

The 4-storied building of the school is meant for 1036 pupils. The school features classrooms, laboratories for physics, chemistry and biology, an informatics room, up-to-date STEAM centre, rooms for military training, first aid and technology, a teachers’ room, a library, a canteen, assembly and sports halls, an outdoor stadium, and a sports ground.

 

The 2-storied building of the school is meant for 348 pupils. Intended for primary education, this building has 20 classrooms, informatics and other rooms, a canteen, and a sports hall. The school has been provided with necessary furniture and equipment, with subject rooms and laboratories being equipped with visual aids.

 

A new outdoor sports ground was built on the territory, and fire safety systems were installed in the building.

 

Renovation and greenery planting works were carried out in the school yard.
