The Qala Antiques Museum was established by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the territory of the Qala State History and Ethnography Preserve. Construction of the Museum started in 2010 and completed in 2011. On September 7, 2011, President Ilham Aliyev and his wife, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the Museum.


Some 800 exhibits are displayed at the Qala Antiques Museum. On the ground and first floors of the three-storied building, mostly various decorative and applied art treasures created for centuries by the people of Azerbaijan, and on the second floor, items gathered in various regions of our country and produced in USA, Germany, Austria, Russia, France, England, Belgium, Iran, Uzbekistan, Poland, Turkey and other countries, that were since old times used in our nation’s household, are displayed.    


A conference hall, administrative rooms, a souvenir section and a repair and restoration workshop function on the ground floor of the building. Restoration of discovered old items is carried out just in this workshop.
