The statue of Azerbaijan’s eminent composer Uzeir Hajibeyli in Shusha city has been made with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

In 1985, a statue of Uzeir Hajibeyli was erected, on the occasion of the composer’s 100th anniversary. Made by sculptor Ahmad Salikov, the statue was completely destroyed in 1992, having been subjected to Armenian vandalism during the First Patriotic War. Following the instruction of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the composer’s statue was prepared anew.

As no model of the statue was left, the new statue was created on the basis of photos published in that time’s media and kept in the archive.

Made of bronze, the statue was erected in Shusha city, at its previous place. The statue was made by sculptors Aslan Rustamov, Teymur Rustamov, and Mahmud Rustamov.
