“The Pleasure of France” art exhibition in Baku

The art exhibition “The Pleasure of France” was opened with the initiative and support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation at the National Art Museum on March 10, 2012.


The First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, French Minister of Culture and Communication, currently on his visit to Azerbaijan Frédéric Mitterrand, social and political figures, art representatives, intellectuals, diplomatic corpus leaders accredited to our country took part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition.


The exhibits were from the collections of Louvre and Orsay Museums, The Palace of Versailles, Pompidou Center, as well as from Marseilles, Lyon, Nice and other cities of France. The authors of the works included famous artists, like Edgar Degas, Auguste Rodin, Anri Tuluz-Lotrek, Jean Baptiste Simeon Chardin, Eugene Delacroix, Auguste Renoir and others. More than 400 pieces represented French art since Renaissance until the modern ages.
