An exhibition and a concert was organized in the French city of Melouse, on the occasion of the 900th anniversary of Azerbaijani poetess Mahsati Ganjavi, with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and assistance by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in France, December 10, 2013.
At a concert organized at the Temple Saint-Étienne Church of Melouse, popular songs and pieces of music composed to lyrics by Mahsati Ganjavi were performed, along with works by Uzeir Hajibeyli, Tofig Gouliyev, Fikret Amirov, Shafiga Akhundova and others, and Rubaiyat of the poetess translated into the French language read.
At an exhibition organized at “Fundari” Palace, women’s garments related to Mahsati Ganjavi’s time, illustrations drawn to the poetess’s works on carpets, ancient coins, samples of coppersmithery and pottery, china dishes and other exhibits were displayed.
The exhibition continued through December 20.
