The traditional Qala Festival was held, May 30, 2014, at the Qala State History and Ethnography Reserve, with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the festival.
Objective of the festival, which was, for the first time, held in 2010, was to eternalize our people’s rich historical past, old and perfect household items, introduce them to younger generation, and promote. Within the framework of the festival, handicrafts of talented children were demonstrated in the open air, and dance groups performed and various interactive games were held.
A camp of “Ekosfera” Socio-ecological Centre was created during this festival. “Ekosfera” organization prepared, for the first time, interactive training and eco-cultural programmes for children and the youth. In tournaments being organized by the organization, children and the youth live a country life, participate in traditional village works, national holidays and festivals, and live in ecological camps.
Some 3000 children from secondary and boarding schools, children homes, refugee and IDP families participated in the festival. At the same time, guests from Pakistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Russian Federation and other countries joined the festival, following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative.
