Leyla Aliyeva met with residents of the Psychoneurological Centre, Children Home No. 1 and Girls’ Dormitory in Baku

Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva visited the Child Psychoneurological Centre created in Narimanov district of Baku. Meeting with children residing, being treated and receiving special education here, Leyla Aliyeva inquired about the conditions created here and watched small shows prepared by children for the New Year festivity.


Children were given holiday presents from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.


Inquiring about the conditions created at the centre, Leyla Aliyeva was informed that, with 100 beds, all conditions have been created at the centre for children’s living, treatment and mastering special education. The centre features psychologist, ophthalmologist, psychoneurological, small manipulation, neuropathologist -logopedist, paediatrician, ENT, ultrasonic treatment and physiotherapy rooms. Here, children suffering from autism, child cerebral palsy and its forms, and  mental retardation are treated. State-of-the-art programs applied worldwide are utilized at the centre. All necessary equipment is available here. Medical, pedagogical and technical staff is dealing with children’s treatment and education.


Leyla Aliyeva talked with children and inquired about their wishes and dreams.

The same day, Leyla Aliyeva visited Children Home No.1 in Nizami district of the capital.


The Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation gave children presents.


It should be noted that from the very start of its activity in 2004, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been providing all kinds of support to children homes.  


The guests visited also groups for children of lesser ages. Children aged 3 to 18 live here.

A computer room is functioning at the children home. It was informed, while being acquainted with the painting rooms, that there are many talented children among those being educated here. With support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, children have participated in various international competitions, festivals, contests and events held in Germany, Hungary, Turkey, Georgia, Belarus and other countries, and won diplomas and prizes.


Leyla Aliyeva visited also the exhibition studio of the children home. While acquainting herself with children’s handicrafts, she was informed that carpet weaving, painting, computer science and other circles are functioning here. Resident of the children home Ali Jalilov presented the carpet woven by him to Leyla Aliyeva on the occasion of President Ilham Aliyev’s birthday.


Then Leyla Aliyeva visited the girls’ dormitory built in 2009 with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Helping herself to tea, Leyla Aliyeva  talked with girls and wished them every success in the New Year.


There are 50 apartments in the dormitory, and over 100 girls that left children homes upon completion of 18 live here.
