Mehriban Aliyeva meets with religious figures of different countries

Religious figures of different countries visited Heydar Aliyev Foundation, July 6.After familiarization with the Foundation, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, ISESCO and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP, met with visitors. She expressed delight of seeing them in the country and at the Foundation named after national leader Heydar Aliyev.

The President said the Foundation has been working for five years. She said it was Heydar Aliyev`s idea to establish such kind of foundation. According to her, since the very beginning, the Foundation set itself a goal of serving Azerbaijan. The Foundation implements projects in the fields of education, healthcare, youth, science, culture and some other spheres.

Mehriban Aliyeva stressed none of letters addressed to the Foundation is left unanswered and the Foundation`s major task is to serve people who need help.

She noted there has always been religious tolerance in Azerbaijan, adding the Foundation places special emphasis on the projects protecting tolerance. According to Mehriban Aliyeva, mosques are being built in Azerbaijan at the Foundation`s initiative. The Foundation provides aid to the Orthodox and Catholic churches.

Assessing religious tolerance as one of main objectives Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva expressed hope religious figures having come to Azerbaijan to attend opening of Tezepir Mosque Complex will be familiarized with our beautiful capital. Noting belief lives in hearts, she valued opening of the mosque as a nice incident.
