Mehriban Aliyeva met with delegation led by Congressman Bill Shuster, co-chairman of Working Group for Azerbaijan at House of Representatives of US Congress

Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, head of Azerbaijan-USA Parliamentary Relations Working Group, MP, met on January 11 with delegation led by Congressman Bill Shuster, co-chairman of Working Group for Azerbaijan at House of Representatives of US Congress.

Noting firm political relations between Azerbaijan and USA based on strategic partnership are dynamically developing Mrs Aliyeva said visits by congressmen Mrs Shelly Moore Capiton, Mrs John Porter and Fill Inglish to Azerbaijan are of special importance in development of bilateral parliamentary relations.

Mehriban Aliyeva informed of activities and projects of Heydar Aliyev Foundation she leads, emphasized successes gained in field of health, education, culture and environment.

Thanking for warm reception the guests underlined the role Heydar Aliyev Foundation can play in organization of visits of US congressmen to Azerbaijan to strengthen ties with US Congress and more closely popularize Azerbaijan in USA, also in implementation of projects in humanitarian and environment sectors.

Views were exchanged in the meeting on Azerbaijan-US cooperation to protect environment and prevent ecologic pollution.
