Mehriban Aliyeva met with Minister of Culture and Communication of France Reno Donedio de Vabre

President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, member of the Milli Majlis Mehriban Aliyeva met with Minister of Culture and Communication of France Reno Donedio de Vabre, April 4.


At the meeting, they emphasized that not only political and economic relations, but also cultural relations between our countries have become  more intensive since the official visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to France.

 

Expressing the pleasure of seeing the First Lady again in Paris, the Minister said, recalling the history of cultural relations between France and Azerbaijan, this tradition continues so far. France is interested in extension and development of mutual cultural relations.

 

Saying he was very well informed of the significant services of Mehriban Aliyeva in the extension of relations, the Minister highly evaluated the activity of the First Lady in promotion of the Azerbaijani culture  in the world.

 

Thanking for the meeting, Mehriban Aliyeva said “The year 2007 started with an official visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to France, and  I believe this year will be very important in bilateral relations between our countries.

 

Headed by the First Lady of Azerbaijan, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been cooperating with a number of countries and organizations of the world. The Foundation is interested in holding cultural events and implementation of concrete projects to promote Azerbaijan in France. From this standpoint, Mehriban Aliyeva suggested to hold mutual days of culture in our countries.

 

Accepting the suggestion with pleasure, the Minister expressed a hope that relevant embassies of the countries would be given instructions in the near future in connection thereof. He emphasized the significance of holding exhibitions in the cultural sphere.

 

Mehriban Aliyeva invited Minister Reno Donedio de Vabre  to Azerbaijan. The invitation was accepted with great pleasure.
