Meeting with Director of the Versailles Palace and Museum Catherine Pégard

While on a visit to France, Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva met with Director of the Versailles Palace and Museum Catherine Pégard at the Centre of Azerbaijani Culture in Paris, May 20.

At a meeting, in which souvenirs were presented, expansion of cooperation in the sphere of culture between Azerbaijan and Versailles Palace was discussed. Mentioning the restoration of two monuments at the Versailles Palace by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva underlined the significance of continuing such projects in future too and invited Catherine Pegard to our country.

Having accepted the invitation with pleasure, Catherine Pegard thanked Mehriban Aliyeva for the restoration of two monuments at Versailles. She said such projects would be essential contribution to the relations between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Versailles Palace.

An agreement was reached at the meeting to represent Azerbaijan at the Versailles in terms of culture and to hold an exhibition consisting of exhibits belonging to Versailles Museum in Baku.

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to France Elchin Amirbeyov took part in the meeting.
