Mehriban Aliyeva met with the delegation led by Vlade Divac, the Chairman of the Serbian Olympic Committee, founder of the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation

First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva met, on February 29^th, with the delegation led by Vlade Divac, the Chairman of the Serbian Olympic Committee, founder of the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation.

Greeting the guests at the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva noted cooperation between Azerbaijan and Serbia developed successfully in all spheres. The President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation emphasized the significance of mutual relations between the heads of the two countries, and noted that these visits would contribute to strengthening the bilateral relations further.

The President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation recalled the presentation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with the “Noble Friend of Balkans” International Prize by Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation.

First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva underlined that cooperation between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation is important in terms of relations between non-government organizations. Having noted she was well informed of the aid provided by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation in the humanitarian sphere, to IDPs and people in need, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva said both the foundations served the same objectives and had the same priorities. 

Talking of the perspectives of the cooperation, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva noted that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has already been implementing projects in Serbia. A church and a mosque are being restored in this country. Implementation of projects in future in various spheres, including sports, education and other directions is expected.

Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva expressed confidence that the visit by the delegation led by Vlade Divac, the Chairman of the Serbian Olympic Committee and founder of the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, will have success.

Thanking for the meeting, Vlade Divac noted that the primary objective of his  visit to our country was to present the Prize to President Ilham Aliyev and to get acquainted more closely with the Azerbaijani people. The guest underlined that the activity of President Ilham Aliyev has been contributing to closer relations between our nations.

Mentioning that he had already familiarised himself with the activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Vlade Divac said multilateral activity of the Foundation draw them into building broader cooperation with this organization.
