Mehriban Aliyeva meets with Russian President’s Assistant, Vice-president of the Russian Olympic Committee Igor Levitin

Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Chairperson of the Baku-2015 First European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva met with Russian President’s Assistant, Vice-president of the Russian Olympic Committee Igor Levitin, March 9. 

Preparation phases for the first European Games to be held in June this year in Baku were discussed at the meeting.The guest expressed confidence Azerbaijan will host this event on the highest level. Underscoring Russian sportsmen’s serious preparation for these Games, Igor Levitin said his country will be represented in this event with about 300 sportsmen.

Mehriban Aliyeva noted that a great deal of work have been carried out for a short span of time towards preparing for the first European Games, and expressed pleasure of Baku’s hosting such a grandiose sport holiday. 

Talking about the works done in Azerbaijan recent years towards developing sport, achievements of our sportsmen at European and world championships, Mehriban Aliyeva mentioned also presentations of Baku-2015 held in a number of European cities. Mehriban Aliyeva expressed confidence everyone will greatly enjoy the competitions to be organized in Baku.
