First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva meets with spouses of ambassadors to Azerbaijan

Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, met with spouses of ambassadors to Azerbaijan, 28 June.

An idea to meet with the First Lady was put forward at a gathering of the body comprised of the ambassadors` spouses. One of the body`s priorities includes charity, and the ambassadors` spouses expressed their keenness to familiarize themselves with Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s activity to improve the living standard of the children deprived of parental care. The body members said they were aware of Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s large-scale charity activity, noting, however, they wanted to know more of the Foundation`s work.

Expressing delight of the meeting, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva talked of the Foundation’s activity, which focuses on charity mainly. The Foundation’s projects aim at helping the most vulnerable sections of population, basically children suffering from diseases, deprived of parental care and love. The Foundation has managed to involve the attention of the society in the important affairs.   

The President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation said the actions organized under the support of the Foundation include help to children from refugee families, affected with diabetes and thalassemia, the programme on the basic reconstruction of children homes and boarding schools in the republic, construction of schools and medical centers in Azerbaijan, mostly in rural areas.

The First Lady underlined Heydar Aliyev Foundation pays attention to problems of other countries as well.
