The Heydar Aliyev Foundation presents over 4,000 books of different sciences published in Russia to higher schools of the country

On July 5 Heydar Aliyev Foundation presented over 4,000 books of different sciences published in Russia in high polygraphic level to the higher schools of the republic.

Employees of science, culture and education of the republic, famous scholars and intellectuals were present in the presentation ceremony arranged on this occasion.

 

President of the Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva opened the event.

 

Chairman of Milli Majlis Science and Education Affairs Standing Commission, rector of Azerbaijan State Economic University, professor Shemseddin Hajiyev noted Heydar Aliyev Foundation pays big care and attention to development of the field of education that is considered one of the most important directions of socio-economic development of the country, very significant actions taken in this field, said the works done are much welcomed by the community of science and education. The rector noted the Foundation possesses big prestige in the society due to its activity in field of education, science, culture, art, health, as well towards protection and popularization of our national and moral values, specially in direction of delivering the entire world of Nagorno-Karabakh realities.

 

He said the Foundation took close participation for the last year in realization of a number of successful projects along with Azerbaijan State Economic University. Creation of `Heydar Aliyev Economic Legacy Study Center` and establishment of more than 20 scientific-methodical training labs based on virtual systems and program supply by widely using modern information and communication means are particularly essential.

 

Talking of successes in field of strengthening the material and technical basis of higher education, integration to world education system, adoption of respective legislative acts meeting modern standards, Mr Hajiyev said in all stages of education modern manuals supply has special place, mentioned this problem is specially reflected in economic specializations. The rector highly valued presenting of nearly 300 manuals to the University by the Foundation. He noted these books cover almost all fields of economy including world economy, macro and micro economy, finance, banking, management, marketing, administration, accounting, audit, lab analysis, from another hand, majority of them have been written by scholars of most popular universities of the world and Europe.

 

S.Hajiyev thanked President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva on behalf of 18,000 teachers and students for this valuable present.

 

Addressing the ceremony director of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical College Nurlana Aliyeva said regular important events are held in this sacred place named after great leader Heydar Aliyev for our education, science and culture. Those nations, countries develop where state cares about education and science. In this point, our nation and pedagogical public are optimist. Because reforms realized in education by genius Heydar Aliyev are successfully continued by his worthy successor Ilham Aliyev.

 

Valuing the current ceremony as an obvious sign of such care N.Aliyeva recalled words `Spring, my bleating lamb, where are you…` of outstanding Azeri writer and pedagogue Mirjalal Pashayev from work `Manifesto of a young man` in which the author shows bitter situation of Azerbaijani children. She mentioned in early XXI century his granddaughter Mehriban Aliyeva replies with practical works to the calling of children, underlined her contributions to education of children deprived of parental care.

 

Talking about high satisfaction in the society from `New school to new Azerbaijan` program and other projects, N.Aliyeva noted the role of manuals in training of the youth possessing high life position, importance of primary education, works done in this field at the college that is famous with positive traditions. She also talked of problems, gave her proposals towards their solution, expressed confidence that Heydar Aliyev Foundation will help to remove those problems.

 

Rector of Baku State University, ANSA correspondent member, MP Abel Maharramov valued the event as very important for education and science of Azerbaijan, considering the presentation of more than 4,000 books to higher schools of the country as the sign of big respect to the wills of great leader Heydar Aliyev.

 

Saying Heydar Aliyev Foundation has given big contributions to development of the education and culture the rector noted importance of bringing of scientific-theoretical works, manuals written by famous Russian scholars to Azerbaijan and free distribution to higher schools. A.Maharramov said more than 1,000 books of 794 titles were allocated to Baku State University, more than 17,000 students studying on 43 specializations at 16 departments of the university, as well 1500 teachers will take use of these books.

 

The rector noted during establishment of Heydar Aliyev Foundation many were considering it would implement the mission not so complicated like many other organizations worldwide. But all saw within short time that the Foundation assumes wide range of duties and insists on fulfilling them. The Foundation itself is becoming a scientific center.

 

The rector underlined importance of scientific-cultural cooperation with other countries, study of universal assets in the era of globalization, affirmation of information society, noting these books presented by the Foundation will help much to improve the quality of education process while majority of manuals have not been published on Latin fonts.

 

Mr Maharramov talked of duties of the intellectuals, education employees in propaganda of hard activities of President Ilham Aliyev in field of socio-economic development of country, strengthening of the national state independence, expressed gratitude to Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva on behalf of the body of the university for her care and attention to the science and education.

 

Rector of Azerbaijan Medical University, academician Ahliman Amiraslanov considered presentation of Russian-language manuals and scientific-public literature reflecting last achievements of scientific and technical progress to the higher schools as important event, mentioned there is very big development in Azerbaijan that covers all spheres, including science and education. The rector said the care and attention great leader Heydar Aliyev was paying to science, education, health, culture is continued by President Ilham Aliyev and valued the current event as result of this.

 

Mr Amiraslanov said big number of books and manuals were allocated also for students and scientific workers of Medical University, recalled very big preferences of these publications that have been written by Russia`s leading scholars. The rector noted the library of the university was founded by great scholar and public figure Aziz Aliyev who led this education center for long, said the book fund covers a million of samples, nearly 50 manuals are published yearly on Latin print. These manuals are written by our own experts. The manuals being presented will be very advantageous specially for students of Russian section, as well teachers, masters dealing with scientific-research works.

 

Academician A.Amiraslanov expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the university`s body to Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, for purchasing such valuable publications and presenting them to higher education institutions.

 

Starting his speech by thanking Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva rector of Baku Slav University, professor Kamal Abdullayev underlined books presented to Slav University will cause new rebirth in life of the education center, activity of teachers and students, be met with big satisfaction. The rector said books given to Slav University are differed for richness of information from those presented to other universities, noting the university keeps firm contacts with a number of authors of those works and libraries of several higher schools of Russia. This is natural because in current information society the relationship via book is tills important and reliable.

 

Mr Abdullayev, talking of works done at the University led by him in field of direct translation of world classic works and publication, said this initiative was highly valued by some foreign countries.

 

It is book holiday today, the rector mentioned, expressing confidence that activity of President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva in field of propaganda of book, like in other fields, will get high satisfaction of the society. He said big attention is paid at the moment in a number of points of the world to the study of Azerbaijan, talked of duties in this field.

 

Rector K.Abdullayev mentioned activity of First Lady of Azerbaijan, who is sample with her philanthropic activities, mercy and generosity, creates a belief in people in eternity of ideas of Heydar Aliyev. He emphasized moral importance of continuation of political line of the genius person by his son, President Ilham Aliyev with dignity and his daughter-in-law Mehriban Aliyeva with love.

 

Mr Abdullayev thanked President of the Foundation Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva for the valuable present.

 

Health minister Ogtay Shiraliyev emphasized the Foundation named after genius person Heydar Aliyev does concrete works in field of problems of people, saying one of these activities belongs to education and health. `New school to new Azerbaijan` program is really invaluable project. In the beginning it was not convincing for many. But the works in frame of the project were organized in highest level, schools were built in short time and supplied with appliances, computers.

 

Talking of actions taken by the Foundation in field of healthcare, the minister underlined very big support to children with diabetes, actions taken for treatment of persons suffering genetic blood diseases, ongoing construction of the Thalassemia Center in Baku. The minister valued as important events the recent realization of international conference in Baku on initiative of the Foundation on ancient medical manuscripts, inclusion of 3 manuscripts stored in Azerbaijan in the UNESCO World Memory Program register, highly valued the views advanced by Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva recently in Paris at General Assembly of the commission for protection of non-material cultural legacy about use of experience and competence of every country in different spheres.

 

O.Shiraliyev thanked Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva on behalf of medical employees for books presented to the educational centers, specially for literature on medicine.

 

Summarizing the ceremony Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva said: I express my deep gratitude to all our scholars and teachers attending and addressing the event. I believe a big program we are starting today will be an important contribution to the development of Azerbaijan`s education.

Then, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva talked to the figures of science, educational employees partaking in the event, viewed along with them the books allocated to every educational institution.
