Mehriban Aliyeva visited Secondary School No.166 in Garadagh district

Mehriban Aliyeva arrived to school 166 named after National Hero of Azerbaijan Faig Refiyev, martyr, police captain, September 1. The school was fundamentally repaired and reconstructed in frame of `New school to new Azerbaijan` program of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The distinguished guest was warmly welcomed by teachers and senior pupils of the school.

Mrs Aliyeva laid carnations on the monument of the National Hero in front of the school.

She laid flowers on the bust of the national leader at the lobby of the school.

Director of the school Mehbuba Maharramova informed Mrs Aliyeva the building constructed in 1936 has not been repaired for last 20 years. Works done for last 3 months at the school attended by 1200 pupils have fully changed the look of the education center. 8 extra classrooms were built that will remove the difficulties. All appliances of the school have been renovated.

Familiarized with classrooms, subject cabinets Mrs Aliyeva highly valued allocation of 2 computer rooms, installation of over 20 computers here, took interest in existence of specialized personnel, their training level, noted necessity of use of modern IT at the schools, recalled adoption of State Program on this.

The President of the Foundation visited the library of school, interested in purchase of books printed on new alphabet. Director of school said for last 2 years many political and art literature have been purchased, thanked for many Russian-language books presented to the school by the Foundation, highly valued care of the Foundation to training and education of the youth, purchase of new books, publication of manuals.

Then, seeing the sport complex in front of school Mrs Aliyeva expressed satisfaction of commissioning of separate heat system, renovation of light and water lines, was familiarized with photogallery on previous and current state of the school, expressed satisfaction of works done.

Applying to teachers, pupils, residents that gathered here hearing of her visit Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva said:

You know that building of this school was repaired in very short time, 3 months only. It is very convenient, hot, clean, light and beautiful school. I am very glad that our children will further study at such school. 3 schools from Garadag district are included in the program implemented by Heydar Aliyev Foundation. I will get acquaintance with works done at other schools as well. All schools in our country will soon be reconstructed, new ones will be built and all they will be supplied with high-level appliances, modern IT. I congratulate you twice and wish success and health to the schoolchildren in new school year.
