Mehriban Aliyeva familiarized herself with an exhibition reflecting the history of the Eurovision Song Contest

First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva familiarized herself with an exhibition reflecting the history of the Eurovision Song Contest at the Baku Business Centre, March 7.


Upon arrival at the Baku Business Centre, First Lady of Azerbaijan was presented flowers.


Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva first viewed the newly brought bus in the centre’s yard.


First Lady of Azerbaijan was first informed that these 49-seat busses will serve delegations coming to Azerbaijan during the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Baku. Each delegation has been allocated by one bus. It was also noted that a new bus called “Shuttle” is expected to be brought to Azerbaijan to serve physically disabled people.


First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva acquainted herself with the activity of the working group established in connection with the Eurovision Song Contest.


While viewing the stands on the first floor, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was informed that more than 100 specialists are expected to work at the Centre.


Viewing stands reflecting the history and culture of Azerbaijan, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva acquainted herself also with a stand featuring our national musical instruments. Detailed information has been given here of the history of our national musical instruments.


Then the First Lady of Azerbaijan viewed operations carried out by an electronic panel. These panels show sale of electronic tickets. There was also a conference hall at the Baku Business Centre where local and foreign correspondents would work during the Eurovision Song Contest-2012. All conditions have been created at the hall to hold various events. Fast Wi-Fi networks have been set up to ensure comfortable work conditions for press representatives.


Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva viewed a stand reflecting the history of the Eurovision Song Contest from 1956 to 2011. The President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was informed of the representatives of countries that won this contest at various years. The stand featured also photos of Eldar Gasymov and Nigar Jamal who won last year a victory to Azerbaijan.


Acquainting herself with the second floor, the First Lady of Azerbaijan viewed also conference halls and familiarized herself with organizational matters associated with holding the contest.
