A ceremony held on the occasion of the 87th anniversary of national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and 6th anniversary of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's activity
May 10, a solemn ceremony took place at the Buta Palace on the 87th birthday of national leader of Azeri people Heydar Aliyev and the 6th anniversary of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. President Ilham Aliyev, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, state and government officials and guets invited from foreign countries attended the ceremony.

Dear guests!
I warmly welcome you at this grand palace. By tradition, we celebrate every May 10 the birthday of genius personality Heydar Aliyev. Heydar Aliyev devoted his whole life to the development of Azerbaijan. This honorable life of 80 years has left unforgettable impressions in life of each of us. We live in independent, daily strengthening and developing Azerbaijan that found its well-deserved place in the world community thanks to President Heydar Aliyev`s activity. The Heydar Aliyev achievements, Heydar Aliyev victories and summits will always be living in the history of Azerbaijan and in the heart of Azeri nation and will be the sample of heroism, wisdom and patriotism for future generations.
Every nation has highly valued in every historical period the iron will, courage and determination of its heroes. We – Azerbaijanis are proud for having a hero as Heydar Aliyev and today once again bow before his blessed memory.
Dear guests, Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been operating for 6 years already. Establishing the Foundation we very well knew the responsibility of the job we started. From the very first day we have tried to deserve this high name with our deeds. For these 6 years Heydar Aliyev Foundation has taken an active part in Azerbaijan’s public-political life, gained a lot of achievements. Comprehensive information will be provided this evening on the Foundation’s actions. I just want to say everyone is aware of results of the works done. This is hundreds of newly built schools and repaired and modernized children homes, boarding schools, kindergartens and summer camps. This is newly constructed medical institutions, diagnostics and treatment centers, special medical institutions and rehabilitation centers for children affected with different diseases. This is historical and religious monuments reconstructed sue to support of the Foundation, also newly built cultural centers, museums, centers, concert halls. This is parks, roads, water, light and gas lines constructed in frame of the successful social programme of the Foundation. This is hundreds of books, booklets, photo and video albums developed by Heydar Aliyev Foundation and published as result of works carried out to assure international awareness of realities of Azerbaijan. This is international symposiums, festivals, scientific conferences held due to support of the Foundation and aiming at propaganda of our rich cultural and historical heritage. The most important, this is hundreds of people who have returned to a normal healthy life as result of the fruitful charity activity of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
In a word, for 6 years Heydar Aliyev Foundation has traversed a big path and I am sure greater works wait for us in the future. Today, Heydar Aliyev Foundation enjoys respect and trust in Azerbaijan and outside. I express my deep gratitude to everyone and every organization supporting, trusting and helping us and I believe Heydar Aliyev Foundation will obtain new achievements, new victories for the sake of Azerbaijan.
