A ceremony held on the occasion of the 86th anniversary of national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev and 5th anniversary of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's activity
May 10, solemn ceremony marking national leader Heydar Aliyev`s 86th birthday anniversary and the 5th anniversary of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was held at the Buta Palace in Baku. President Ilham Aliyev, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, state and government officials and guets invited from foreign countries attended the ceremony.

Dear guests,
Today, May 10 is the birthday of a great person who has left unforgettable impressions on life and destiny of modern Azerbaijan and every Azerbaijani. Every citizen of our country has lived a big part of its life, interesting and mature times under leadership of this person. Not remained as high official duty only this leadership more widely reflected itself in the human sense. This leadership was the care of brave father and wise elder sourced from patriotism, will and strength. I am talking about the major hero of history of Azerbaijan in XX century, the founder and constructor of modern independent Republic of Azerbaijan, unforgettable Heydar Aliyev. Like a mirror of a big epoch the life of Heydar Aliyev reflects happy and sad days of our country, these history paths of Azerbaijan. Just life and action of Heydar Aliyev proved realization of unapproachable dreams is possible due to the power of human phenomenon. This 80-year honorable life proved only great and unique persons carry high and supreme mission. They play exceptional and unexampled role in development of history of their nations and universe. Perhaps because of this reason life of such persons serves a great objective and is dedicated to eternal fight till the last breath. Defeating all difficulties in the hard times of history such persons always conquer. The result of Heydar Aliyev ability is the independent Republic of Azerbaijan and its present achievements.
As president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation I sincerely greet all guests gathered here on the 5th anniversary of our foundation. Everyone is aware of the Foundation’s activities. It will be talked here this evening on works done during 5 years, achievements obtained. On my own behalf I only want to say works done for these 5 years cover a number of spheres - science, education, culture, health, social spheres. But one factor unites them. This is the desire and honor of serving Azerbaijan. I express deep gratitude to everyone helping, supporting, trusting us in this way. I specially thank to employees of the Foundation – every young, gifted member of my team who are never indifferent to humane problems. I once again want to assure you this foundation named after Heydar Aliyev is ready and able to do much more for present and future of Azerbaijan.
Dear guests, I once more cordially congratulate you on May 10, wish you health and success. May this evening uniting the birthday and the jubilee be the holiday calling on not to forget lessons of the past, honor memory of our ancestors, protect our present day and build our future.
