School in Marneuli capitally repaired at the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation
Heydar Aliyev Foundation supports Azerbaijanis in Georgia in all spheres, including education. Several schools in Kvemo Kartli-Borchaly, the region compactly populated by Azerbaijanis, have capitally been reconstructed due to support of the Foundation. One of these educational centers is Azerbaijan General School No.7 in Marneuli City.
Capitally reconstructed due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the School was officially opened March 11. Opening the event, Education and Science Minister of Georgia Dmitri Shashkin expressed gratitude to Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its President Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva. Noting 3 schools in the region were capitally reconstructed this year in the region due to support of the Foundation, he underlined our Azerbaijani partners are willing to continue works in this direction. We appreciate it and wish them success. The Minister expressed confidence good circumstances will improve the level of learning and training.
Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Director-Executive Anar Elekberov gave the participants best wishes from Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP.
He mentioned repaired in accordance with modern standards the School will let pupils study well and represent our nation decently. The President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation has commissioned to mobilize all efforts towards reconstruction of schools in the region, improvement of conditions at educational institutions. Therefore, employees of the Foundation constantly work here, obtain necessary information, and reconstruction works are carried out at schools upon commission of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva. We have scheduled to reconstruct several more schools, build new ones.
Mr Elekberov stated during familiarization with M.F.Akhundov Azerbaijan School No.73 in Tbilisi we identified the School needs a capital repair. After necessary records are prepared by specialists, capital repair of the School will be started and completed by the end of the year. We have decided to reconstruct 2 schools in 2010. There are schools in the region needing repair and we will reconstruct them too.
Georgian MP Azer Suleimanov expressed thanks on behalf of Georgian Azeris to the leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan and President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva.
Head of Marneuli Resource and Education Center Kamandar Ismailov talked of care and attention shown to Azeris living in Georgia, successful activity in field of reconstruction of schools, supplying them with textbooks and equipment.
Principal of General School No.7 in Marneuli Vahid Ibrahimov thanked Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva on behalf of the School’s staff. According to him, covering 100 pupils and 23 teachers the School not repaired for about 40 years was under very bad conditions.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Georgia Namig Aliyev, Kvemo Kartli-Borchaly Region’s Governor David Kirkitadze, Marneuli district top officials were present in the opening ceremony.
