President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva inaugurated a number of objects in Sabunchu, Nizami and Narimanov districts of Baku

On January 22, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP, has inaugurated a number of objects in Sabunchu, Nizami and Narimanov districts of Baku, which have been built and repaired under the Orphanages and Boarding Schools Development Program.

 

The President of the Foundation first cut the red ribbon symbolizing official opening of the children`s sanatorium Tebessum in the settlement of Mashtaga. She laid flowers at the bust to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the foyer.

 

Mrs Aliyeva, who was familiarized with stand ‘Past and Present of Our Sanatorium’, was informed the sanatorium was built in 1936. Despite it was moved to the new building in 1989 all 3 buildings hugely needed reconstruction in the last years. Reconstruction of the sanatorium, which started here in 2007 at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, has been completed. All buildings, cabinets, treatment rooms have fundamentally been repaired in the modern style, doors, windows, floor, roof, sanitary junctions renovated, modern boiler house put into service, 110-kv generator installed. Greening and renovation works have been carried out in the yard, shady places installed, side-shows set up. The sanatorium includes treatment, physical training, sport, music halls, manipulation, physiotherapy, attending physician, electrocardiogram and massage rooms, lab, art studio.

 

The 255-bed health center specializes in gastroenterology and pulmonology. Children aged 1.5-7 may undergo a two-month treatment here free of charge. 56 children are treated now in the sanatorium, they are served by 8 physicians, 45 nurses and 14 trainers. 

 

Mehriban Aliyeva watched children doing sport in the gym.

 

Children warmly welcomed the First Lady.

 

Mrs Aliyeva sincerely talked to them.

 

The President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation listened to a song performed by children in the art studio, wished them to soon recover and grow as worthy citizens of the homeland.

 

M.Aliyeva was acquainted with bedrooms of children. A nice diner and kitchen have been built at the sanatorium.

 

The First Lady of Azerbaijan expressed pleasure of circumstances, expressed confidence for successful operation of the sanatorium.

 

Mehriban Aliyeva also visited a newly repaired Orphanage 1 in the Nizami district. She laid flowers at the bust to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the foyer, got acquainted with the work done here.

 

Extra floor has been built in the building to assure fruitful leisure of children, fundamental repair works done, new equipment purchased, heat system launched. The newly built floor includes computer, sewing, weaving, painting rooms, an art studio as well.   

 

Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva was presented in the studio a carpet woven by children. M.Aliyeva thanked children for presents and wished them success.

 

Familiarized with renovation works in the yard Mehriban Aliyeva handed over a key of Hyundai bus to the director of the Orphanage and had her picture taken together with the children.

 

Later, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the 50-apartment building for 100 people built at the initiative of the Foundation for orphanage-raised girls aged over 18. Mehriban Aliyeva cut the red ribbon and got familiar with the conveniences in the turnkey apartments. Launch of the building aims solution of quite serious problem, since it was impossible to care about girls after leaving orphanages. The new dwelling building serves settlement of this problem. Cameras have been set in the building for security of youth. 

 

All flats in the building have been assured with modern furniture, TV set, washing machine and other home appliances.

 

The President of the Foundation inaugurated the same day the Musical School 38 for the blind and visually impaired children in the Narimanov district.

 

Mehriban Aliyeva cut the ribbon symbolizing opening of the School. She was informed blind and visually impaired children have been learning at this school for about 30 years playing fortepiano, kamancha, drum and singing.

 

The complete overhaul in the School began in August 2008 at the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, several classrooms built, heat, gas, water and light systems renovated. The School that is consisted of 14 classrooms includes 50 teachers and 200 children. The Foundation also provided the School with musical instruments and equipment. 

 

Mehriban Aliyeva noted the Heydar Aliyev Foundation puts a special emphasis on the projects designed for such children. It implements the ICT Access for Blind and Visually Impaired Children Project. To this end, a special school was built in Ganja. The equipment is being currently delivered from all around the world to introduce Azerbaijani children to the state-of-the-art technologies.

 

The President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation listened to national rhythms played by the School’s drummers band, compositions played by children in the fortepiano class. She emphasized special talent of children and gave recommendations to assure their participation in international festivals.

 

Pupils expressed gratitude to Mehriban Aliyeva.
