Winners of ‘Subject Olympiad’ held due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation awarded

‘Subject Olympiad’ was held among schoolchildren in Zira settlement on November 5.

 

Organized at Zira Culture Palace in frame of the Support to Education Project by Baku City Main Education Office and Azizbeyov District Development Fund due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation the Olympiad brought together pupils from Schools No.120, 241 and 324. Pupils competed in Azerbaijani Language and Literature, English, History of Azerbaijan and mathematics.

 

Development of education in Azerbaijan, healthy and educated growth of youth is a priority direction in the policy of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

Development of Children Homes and Boarding Schools’, ‘New School to New Azerbaijan’ programmes, the Support to Education Project accomplished in this sphere in the past years on the Foundation’s initiative have lifted education to the new phase. The Olympiad in Zira settlement is the part of works in this course.

 

The competition involved more than 80 pupils from the 8-11th forms. According to Baku City Main Education Office’s spokesmen, organized for the first time in the settlement the Olympiad is significant to test knowledge of schoolchildren, the level of their training for entrance exams. Action of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, in the sphere was highly assessed. 

 

16 pupils were winners of the Olympiad that lasted more than 2 hours. Every pupil distinguished was awarded TV set and diploma.
