15 disabled inventors awarded by World Intellectual Property Organization upon presentation of Heydar Aliyev Foundation

World Intellectual Property Organization made decision to award 15 disabled inventors upon presentation of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.


Ceremony of presenting the awards took place October 11 at Heydar Aliyev Foundation.


Employee of the Foundation Ilgar Mustafayev greeted participants on behalf of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, noted the Foundation attaches special importance to caring for creative people, particularly the disabled.


Main directions of cooperation between WIPO and Heydar Aliyev Foundation were set in the meeting of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva with Director General of the Organization Kamal Idris during the latter’s visit to Azerbaijan in 2006. In the meeting promotion of inventing capacity of the disabled was discussed. As result of the agreement reached, inventions presented by Heydar Aliyev Foundation to WIPO were discussed at the Organization’s Secretariat and decision was adopted on awarding 15 investors.


Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Fuzuli Elekberov and Head of Awards and Gender Issues Section of WIPO Helen Lom underlined the public action of First Lady of Azerbaijan is highly valued by international community, noted importance of projects performed by the Foundation. They mentioned WIPO attentively follows the activities of the Foundation and its president in field of integration of the disabled to society, understanding their necessity for homeland, discovering and developing their knowledge and skills, providing comfortable circumstances to them, evaluating their labor. This is the result of this action that for the first time in Azerbaijan invention of 15 persons are awarded the medals, diplomas and rewards.


Awardees expressed gratitude to First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and management of the Organization for care and attention, presented their handworks to Heydar Aliyev Foundation. A photo was taken in the end.
