Heydar Aliyev Teaching Center opened at Caucasus University in Kars City, Turkey
Ceremony of opening of Heydar Aliyev Teaching Center took place on November 14 at Caucasus University in Kars City, Turkey.
Participants first laid wreath on monument of Heydar Aliyev in the park named after the great leader and were photographed.
Then, ceremony started at Kars Caucasus University.
National anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkey played.
Addressing the event rector Abumuslum Guven said ‘A few months ago, we appealed to Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, let her know we need a center at Kars Caucasus University for students studying language and literature of Azerbaijan. Positively replying to our proposals Mrs Aliyeva rendered every help to us to create here such a unique center named after great leader Heydar Aliyev’.
Rector said covering 150 sq.m the Center includes valuable books on culture, literature and history of Azerbaijan. Consul general of Azerbaijan to Kars City Hasan Zeynalov took close part in creation of the Center. The Center will serve strengthening of friendship and brotherhood between two nations and countries and expansion and deepening of bilateral ties. Words of great leader Ataturk and national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev written in the Center’s entry explain everything indeed: this center is bright sample of friendship and brotherhood. We feel honor that this center named after Heydar Aliyev who was well aware of importance of Turkey and Kars has been created just in our university.
Abumuslum Guven noted among Turkish universities for the first time at this education center Azerbaijani Language and Literature Faculty has been opened and 60 students study here. He said attention and interest to this field has been lifted, cooperation established among Kars Caucasus University, Baku State University, Slav University, Nakhchyvan and Ganca universities. So far, 25 Azeri students have graduated from Caucasus University and 16 students from Azerbaijan are studying in different faculties.
Consul general of Azerbaijan to Kars City Hasan Zeynalov mentioned cooperation between brotherly countries is high level in all fields. Kars City, which is of special importance for Azerbaijan, was always the focus of attention of great leader Heydar Aliyev. He many times visited this city, was awarded the title of Honor Doctor of Caucasus University. Setting here the park named after Heydar Aliyev and a monument to him indicates to the deep respect of residents of Kars for the national leader of Azerbaijan. The Consul General said creation of such center at the university, where the national leader was awarded the title of Honor Doctor, due to direct support of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, is the source of pride.
Employee of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mahabbat Mehdiyeva read appeal of President of the Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva to participants, gave detailed information on the Foundation’s action, projects realized under leadership of Mrs Aliyeva, valued creation of Heydar Aliyev Teaching Center at Caucasus University as continuation of these works.
Director of A.Bakykhanov History Institute, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, MP Yagub Mahmudov, MP Fazail Ibrahimli, vice rector of Nakhchyvan State University Mammad Rzayev, spokesman of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Khalid Mammadov noted opening of the center at the university of Kars City that plays important role in history of Turkey and Azerbaijan is triumph of ideas of Ataturk and Heydar Aliyev, call to our firmer solidarity. Creation of such centers will play big role in bringing closer history and culture of Azerbaijan and Turkey. Today, we can proudly say that the way of outstanding women diplomats in our common history is successfully continued by Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP.
Chairman of Kars Municipality Naif Alibeyoglu, Governor of Kars Mehmet Ufuk Erden emphasized Turkey-Azerbaijan relations are in high level in all spheres, noted national leader Heydar Aliyev had great services in establishment of brotherly ties between two countries and this is why creation of this center at Kars Caucasus University will be remembered as historical event.
After red ribbon symbolizing the opening was cut, participants were familiarized at the Teaching Center with photo stand and documents showing various times of life and action of Heydar Aliyev.
They were informed at Heydar Aliyev Teaching Center there is library on history and literature of Azerbaijan, reading and computer halls. Thanks to this center students of Kars Caucasus University, specially youth studying at Azerbaijani Language and Literature Department will get more detailed information on Azerbaijan.
In the end, the Center was presented with gifts and books.
