Heydar Aliyev Foundation commissions next school building in Balakan

Opening ceremonies of the 120-seat school building constructed in frame of `New school to new Azerbaijan` program of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, as well new buildings of the 240-seat technical and humanitarian lyceum and History Museum built according to the State Program for regions socio-economic development were held on September 30 in Balakan district. President of SOCAR, MP Rovnag Abdullayev attended the ceremonies.

Visitors arrived in Gerekli village first, were familiarized with new building of 10 extra classrooms built for the secondary school within State Program for regions socio-economic development.

Villagers, reps of the district public gathered at the opening of the 120-seat school building constructed in Mazimchay village, the remotest settlement of Balakan district adjoining with Georgia and Russia, in frame of `New school to new Azerbaijan` program sincerely greeted the guests.

Addressing the ceremony President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev congratulated villagers and the staff of the school on the remarkable event. He noted education reforms started by national leader Heydar Aliyev are successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, the state pays high attention to development of education and strengthening its material and technical base, underlined the purposeful activity of Heydar Aliyev Foundation in this sphere. Stressing active participation of the Company in projects realized in frame of the State Program for regions socio-economic development Mr Abdullayev said new units are under construction due to funds of SOCAR in regions, including the new hospital building in Balakan city that has no analogue in the republic.

Head of the district executive power Asif Mammadov said visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Balakan district left unforgettable impression on every habitant of the district. He expressed deep gratitude to Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP, for invaluable services to development of Azerbaijani education, presenting next school building to Balakan district.

Then, participants of the ceremony got familiarization with new education center built in base of special draft that has computer room, supplementary rooms, modern heat system and high quality appliances.

Opening of the technical and humanitarian lyceum in Balakan city was unforgettable. The education center operating since 1994 has been functioning in different buildings. The 2-floor new building constructed according to modern standards possesses 12 classrooms, labs, library and subject rooms, gym and modern heat system.

Then, visitors attended the opening of History Museum`s new building, were acquainted with works at the rest park constructed in the city.
