A new school building is commissioned in Shorsulu village of Salyan district

A new building constructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for an almost hundred-year old education institution named after Namig Ibrahimov in Shorsulu village of Salyan was commissioned.

The school’s opening ceremony was attended by representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Jamil Aliyev, chief of the Extraschool Activities Organization Department of the Ministry of Science and Education Elnur Aliyev, head of the Salyan District Executive Authority Sevindik Hatamov, the school staff, and representatives of the public.

Those speaking at the event congratulated pupils and teachers on the new academic year, wishing them successes.

It was mentioned that as the secondary school constructed in Shorsulu village of Salyan district had fallen into disrepair, there arose a necessity to construct a new building. One of the projects of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the sphere of education has covered Shorsulu village of Salyan. As a result of the works done by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which had undertaken construction of a new school building, a new school meant for 300 pupils was commissioned for the academic year 2023-2024.

The two-storied school is comprised of three buildings. This education institution accommodates 13 classrooms, laboratories for physics, chemistry and biology, rooms for information technology, a military training room, labour training rooms for girls and boys, a library, a canteen, assembly and sports halls, and an outdoor sports ground.

The school has been provided with necessary furniture and equipment, and subject rooms and laboratories with visual aids. Renovation and greenery planting works were carried out on the school’s territory.

After the speeches, pupils told poems, then dances under national music followed. Thereafter, familiarization with the facilities created in the school building took place.
