President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva inaugurated Boarding Home 3 of Shagan settlement after major reconstruction

First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP Mehriban Aliyeva inaugurated Boarding Home 3 of Shagan settlement after major reconstruction, February 24.

She was presented flowers.

138 children aged 8-18 with mental and physical defects live at the Home built in 1984. Reconstruction works carried out within the framework of Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s Children Homes and Boarding Schools Development Programme started in March 2010.

A photo stand in the lobby reflects national leader Heydar Aliyev`s, President Ilham Aliyev`s and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva`s care for children as well as previous and present look of the Home.

The President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation saw well-equipped conference room, listened to the performance of children in the music hall.

The Boarding Home has a gym supplied with state-of-the-art appliances. The facility employs nearly 20 medical employees, including high-qualified psychoneurologists, pediatricians and physicians. Medical rooms have been equipped with modern devices and medicines.  

Physiotherapy, rehabilitation, first aid, functional diagnostics rooms have vacuum massage, electronic foot training devices. Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva inspected the room designed for water rehabilitation of children.

Each room at the Boarding Home includes furniture reflecting tale characters and toys. M.Aliyeva was familiarized with bedrooms, took interest in deinstitutionalization.  

The First Lady inspected the kitchen, took interest in children’s nutrition, a room designed for education and entertainment of children via various games.

Mehriban Aliyeva talked to children, who presented her a keepsake and showed their skills.

She familiarized herself with conditions at the dining room.

Improvement works have been done in the Boarding Home’s yard, fountains and benches set. For children’s rehabilitation, cows, sheep, poultry are raised here. The facility includes a building for baking bread and sweets.

Expressing satisfaction of circumstances here, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva wished success to the staff and residents of the Boarding Home.
