President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva visited the schools in Sabunchu district of Baku

President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva was familiarized on October 11 with fundamental repair and reconstruction works implemented by initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation at the boarding school 11 in Bilgah settlement of Sabunchu district of Baku.

President of the Foundation laid fresh carnations on the bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the foyer of the school.

The school building constructed in 1961 was in unsuitable state because of not being repaired for long years. After Mrs Aliyeva was familiarized with the situation in February this year she said the basic repair works would be carried out here by initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Repair and reconstruction works have fully been completed. The education building, dormitory, dining-room, medical aid rooms of the school has been equipped with modern appliances. Sport hall and fields, swimming pool, entertainment center, rest places have completely been reconstructed. Photo stand `Boarding school in the past and present` evidently reflects the previous and current situations.

Director Mehpare Jafarova informed at the moment 480 children are trained at the school, 53 teachers and trainers, 51 servants work. Mentally retarded and healthy children are educated together in 1-5 classes. This pilot project shows its positive results, children are suggested the qualities such as charity, disinterested help to each other. Special attention is paid here to labor training classes. Children possess various professions in the courses of timbering, carpet-weaving, sewing and etc.

Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva saw the handworks of children, photo-stands devoted to life and activity of national leader Heydar Aliyev, National Heroes of Azerbaijan, famous figures of literary, art. Handcrafts of the children of this school, medals, diplomas, honorary certificates they won in different sport competitions in Hungary, Turkey, Slovakia, Ireland, Japan caused big interest.

Having close familiarization with the school, President of the Foundation paid special attention to training and education process, highly valued knowledge and kills of the children. Carpet-weaver girls presented Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva their gift - the carpet reflecting her portrait. Deeply impressed of this gift, Mrs Aliyeva said she would keep it as an unforgettable souvenir.

Children learning the computer expressed their respect and love for genius personality Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva with the words they had written on the computer.

Expressing the sole view of the team of the school in the brief meeting held at the teachers` room, Muzafaddin Mirzabeyov, who possesses 45-year pedagogical experience, said this station is indeed a newly built educational and health complex. Everything is new here. Residents, parents, teachers and children know well that all these were possible due to personal initiative and care of Mrs Aliyeva. All we highly value the real maternal care shown by Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva to the children homes and boarding schools in the republic, know that thousands of families share the happiness and consolation of this care and attention. Members of the collective expressed their deep gratitude to Mehriban Aliyeva for visiting this school again, causing deep joy of children and teachers.

Mrs Aliyeva noted the works implemented in frame of Program `Development of children`s homes and boarding schools` worked out by Heydar Aliyev Foundation would further be continued, expressed satisfaction for the sincere words said, expressed best wishes to those doing charitable works.

The same day Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva visited the school 112 in Pirshagy settlement built by initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Age of this first and only school of the settlement is more than 100 years. That is why building of the old 1-floor educational center was maintained and repaired during the construction of the new school building.

President of the Foundation, having familiarization with the new building, was informed the school at which 514 pupils get education consists of 14 classrooms, computer, subject rooms, wide sport and conference rooms, and all they are equipped with new appliances. In a response to the question of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, getting close acquaintance with the library of the school, it was stated that according to the respective Order of President Ilham Aliyev, the library has been ensured with majority of the books released on Latin type, all manuals are given to the pupils free of charge, there is no lack regarding the manuals, issues of newspapers and magazines are collected in the library.

Mrs Aliyeva took interest in the state of education, level of learning of the pupils, talked to the teachers and pupils, congratulated the teachers on their professional holiday.

Parents gathered in the yard of the school thanked Mrs Aliyeva for her care to the solution of the problems disturbing them for long years, for the construction of the new school building.

President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation underlined that the tourist and resort-sanatorium possibilities of Pirshagy, located on the coast of Caspian with its fresh air, fruitful land and natural beauties, have not been effectively used so far, that President of the state also pays attention to this issue and certain actions are to be taken in the settlement in this direction.

Mentioning the construction and commissioning of more than 100 schools in the republic within the Program `New school to the new Azerbaijan`, Mrs Aliyeva said these works would be continued, all the opportunities would be used for light future of our people and training and education of the youth, congratulated the inhabitants of Pirshagy on the construction of the new school.
