Groundbreaking ceremony for rehabilitation center for disabled children held in Baku

A groundbreaking ceremony for a rehabilitation center for disabled children was held October 7 in Baku`s Yeni Gunashli settlement.


Addressing the ceremony head of Surakhany District Executive Power Ilgar Abbasov said the center to be built on the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation will be contribution to disabled children in the country, stated Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, renders care and attention to Children Home 2 in the district.

 

Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s Executive Director Anar Alakbarov said Head of the Foundation`s Moscow Office Leila Aliyeva had made significant efforts to realize the project. The project will be carried out in accordance with a memorandum signed December 2007 between President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and leadership of Russia`s URALSIB Financial Corporation.

 

Noting the Foundation constantly cares about children of this category A.Elekberov mentioned project for assurance of access of blind and visually impaired children to IT is under development, music center for visually disabled children and psychoneurological center for children in Narimanov district are under construction.

 

Russian Ambassador to the country Vasili Istratov expressed hope for launch of the center for short time. Saying the project is funded by Russian capital the Ambassador wished such projects to be a lot in future to deepen cooperation between the two countries.

 

URALSIB Corporation`s Chief Vice-President Alexander Shekochikhin said the project will laid a solid foundation for long-term cooperation between his company and Heydar Aliyev Foundation for prosperity of Azeri nation.

 

Chairman of Board of Nikoil Bank Vasili Khamaza said major objective of the project is to turn a light of hope in the heart of children for the happy future.

 

Then, a cylinder was put in the cornerstone and first mixture of concrete laid.

 

Designed for Origami Children and Juniors Public Union which is located in Bulbule settlement and brings together disabled children the center will provide favorable conditions for mental and physical development of children and juniors and help restoration of their health. Construction of the center will be completed by the end of 2009.
