Medical examinations are held in Baku and regions with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and RDPU

During August 25-27, free-of-charge medical examinations and consultations were conducted, with a view to early diagnosing various diseases in women, with participation of Israeli physicians in Baku, Mingachevir and Ganja cities. The project has been implemented with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Regional Development Public Union (RDPU). Examinations were conducted by a delegation comprised of 14 members from Israel’s Women’s Health Centre, “Khorev” Medical Centre, and Torakal Surgery Institute.

The delegation spearheaded by chief physician of “Khorev” Medical Centre in the Israeli city of Haifa Roman Barak, with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, RDPU and the National Centre of Oncology, conducted examinations on breast, gynaecological, oncological, dermatological, endocrinologic and therapeutic diseases in women. Over 100 patients were examined in each city and received relevant prescription. Examinations have been organized at the National Centre of Oncology Centre in Baku, and clinical hospitals of Ganja and Mingachevir.

It should be mentioned that during the period past the Regional Development Public Union of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has received appeals from regions asking to provide support to solving various problems associated with health, including examination and treatment of reproductive system diseases in women. As a result of the analysing them, RDPU, as a first step, decided to implement projects on organization of the above-mentioned free-of-charge medical examinations.

Established following the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Regional Development Public Union has been implementing projects aiming at studying problems facing the population in such fields as science, education, healthcare, sports, tourism, ecology, social security, culture, art, development of entrepreneurship etc., and building mutual dialogue and cooperation between citizens and the state bodies aiming to seek solution of such issues.

Along with the examinations, the Azerbaijani and Israeli specialists have also had an exchange of experience. At the same time, the Israeli physicians, together with their Azerbaijani colleagues, have conducted a thoracoscopic operation on chest in Baku.

At a scientific conference held at the National Oncology Centre, scientists of both the countries addressed the conference on early and precise diagnosis of oncological diseases, and put forward proposals on application of new technologies. The parties, mentioning the importance of extending relations in the field of healthcare, said they would like to have such meetings in future too.
