University of Jordan hosts exhibition on Azerbaijan

February 16, exhibition on Azerbaijan was organized at the University of Jordan due to support of Azerbaijan`s Embassy to Jordan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

The photos on different periods of life of national leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as on nature, history and culture of Azerbaijan have been demonstrated at the exhibition, which also featured a film on Azerbaijan, national and classic music. The visitors familiarized themselves with art carpet and national cuisine of the country.

The books and brochures on the life of Heydar Aliyev, history of Azerbaijan, tourism opportunities, Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Daghlig Garabagh and mugham CDs were presented to the visitors.

Head of Foreign Languages Center of the University A.Fauri told of friendly relations established between Jordan and Azerbaijan and high importance of the exhibition for bilateral cooperation.

First Secretary of Azerbaijan Embassy K.Murtuzov said the event, which aims developing relations between nations and states of Azerbaijan and Jordan according to the desire of the heads of state of both countries, lets foreign students and teaching staff closely familiarize themselves with Azerbaijan. 

During his visit to Jordan in 2007, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was awarded the title of the Honorary Doctor of the University.

MOU on cooperation is expected to be signed between the University of Jordan and Baku State University.
