Heydar Aliyev Foundations’ Turkey office holds events in Istanbul on the 87th birthday of National Leader Heydar Aliyev

Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Turkey Office held solemn ceremonies on the 87th birthday of national leader Heydar Aliyev in Istanbul, May 8-9. Supported also by Azerbaijan’s Consulate General to Istanbul, the events started on May 8 by a football tournament among Azeris studying in Turkey in the memory of the national leader.

May 9, the national leader was honored in the Heydar Aliyev Park by employees of Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Turkey Office and Consulate, Azeris living and studying in Turkey. The Head of Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Turkey Office talked of the great leader’s honorable place in the history of Azeri nation, his huge contributions to the development of its culture, statehood and independence.

 

The ceremony was continued by a reception attended by 250 people. In the reception, guests talked of Heydar Aliyev’s role in strengthening of unity of Azeris, the winners of the football tournament were awarded diplomas and cups
