An exhibition devoted to the jubilee of national leader Heydar Aliyev was opened at the Pirosman Exhibition Hall in Tbilisi

A photo-exhibition devoted to the 85th jubilee of national leader Heydar Aliyev and eminent ophthalmologist-scholar, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was opened, and a ceremony of presentation-stamping of new postage stamps was held by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia with support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, May 2nd.


Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia, Georgian Azerbaijanis, Georgian figures of art, Governor of the Kvemo Kartli-Borchaly region David Kirkitadze and other officials attended the event .

 

Opening the exhibition, Ambassador Namik Aliyev said the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Georgia has developed a series of events in connection with these important jubilee, and their implementation has already started. This ceremony is one of these events. Activity of the national leader in various periods has been reflected in the photo exhibition.

 

Then the Ambassador talked of Heydar Aliyev’s matchless services  to realization of global projects, and underscored that these projects have become the guarantee of stability in the region. He noted that, devoting his life to the well-being of his people and state, Heydar Aliyev’s dear memory will always remain in peoples’ heart.

 

Governor of the Kvemo Kartli-Borchaly region David Kirkitadze expressed his contentment with his participation in an event devoted to the important jubilee of public-political and state persons such as Heydar Aliyev and his spouse Zarifa Aliyeva.

 

The Governor talked of Heydar Aliyev’s matchless services to stability in the Caucasus, development of Georgian-Azerbaijani relations, and underlined the significance of events held by our Embassy in connection with the jubilee.

 

Along with Azerbaijani masters of photo, a photo-stand of Georgian artist Sergo Buiglishvili also was exhibited separately. The stand is accompanied with the author’s words in Georgian and Azerbaijani: “I took these pictures on May 28, 2002. On the same day Azerbaijan celebrated anniversary of its independence. I filmed the events by chance. I faced no problem. Heydar Aliyev knew I was Georgian and let me come closer to him without any obstacle... I remember everything clearly, and it will always remain in my memory. I devote my works to Heydar Aliyev’s dear memory”.

 

Then the Ambassador and the Governor held the ceremony of stamping envelopes, and the envelopes were distributed to the participants of the event.
