President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva met with Director General of UNESCO Koichiro Matsuura

Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, met on May 14 at Gulustan Palace with Director General of UNESCO Koichiro Matsuura.

Expressing delight of seeing the guest in Baku again M.Aliyeva thanked him for accepting the invitation and arriving in Baku, expressed confidence in success of the conference to be held in Baku.

Noting the importance of realization of the conference in Baku for Azerbaijan Koichiro Matsuura emphasized the active policy of Azerbaijan in field of education.

K.Matsuura presented UNESCO’s memorable silver medal to Mrs Aliyeva.

The sides also exchanged views on cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO in various areas.
