Participants of an international conference on the theme of “Heydar Aliyev and the religious policy in Azerbaijan: realities and perspectives” visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation

Participants of the international conference on the theme of “Heydar Aliyev and the religious policy in Azerbaijan: realities and perspectives” visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, April 4.

Employees of the Foundation welcomed the guests coming from various countries of the world, informed them of the objectives of the Foundation created in memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Viewing the exhibits taken from the national leader’s private archive and covering different phases of his activity, documents reflecting various moments of the phenomenal personality’s life and giving an idea about the whole period of our history, the guests showed an interest in photos related to the years while Heydar Aliyev was one of the former Soviet leaders in Moscow, the mock-up of the territories, through which the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, the peak of the new oil strategy of Azerbaijan developed by him, passed. They emphasized that they knew this wise personality had paid special attention, in his political activity as a head of state, to extension of relations with Islamic countries, preservation of religious tolerance historically formed in Azerbaijan,  and friendly living of people with different religious beliefs as in one single family.

Dear guests were informed that the primary objective of the Foundation was to study and promote the rich heritage of eminent political person Heydar Aliyev, to give an idea to future generations and foreign guests of the wide-range activity aimed at social, economic and cultural progress of Azerbaijan, and assist in works carried out towards the promotion of Azerbaijan’s culture and history in the world. The Foundation also implements wide-range projects, contributes to realization of dreams of the eminent political person. President of the Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva is a Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO.

The guests left the Foundation created in memory of eminent political person Heydar Aliyev with rich impressions.

During the familiarization with the Foundation, the guests were accompanied by chairman of the State Committee for Works with Religious Organizations Hidayat Orujov.
