A new building for Secondary School No.156 in Shuvalan settlement was launched
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, MP Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva attended September 15 the ceremony to launch the new building of Secondary School 156 in Shuvalan settlement.
The President was warmly welcomed by schoolchildren, teachers and parents.
The School built in 1935 did not meet the required standards for last years and has fully been reconstructed due to funds of Heydar Aliyev Foundation within second phase of the New School to New Azerbaijan Programme on the initiative of the Foundation. President of the Foundation, MP Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva attended last year the ceremony of starting the reconstruction works at the building, arrived this June at the School and studied the works.
The 3-floor building seating 1140 pupils in 50 classrooms completely meets the modern standards. There is a nice garden, football and basketball grounds at the courtyard.
President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing opening of the School. Bust has been set at the lobby to national leader Heydar Aliyev, stands show the photos reflecting care rendered by great leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev and President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva to children and education.
President Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva saw school bags, containing school supplies, presented to each first-former by Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Sevil Hashymova, teacher in primary class, said ‘Bags contain every supply first-formers need, booklets of Azeri and world stories, CDs. Mrs Aliyeva, I thank You, presents of the Foundation made children very happy. We – teachers bear bigger responsibility now and we will do our best.’
Children thanked for gifts and promised to study well.
Thanking for sincere words President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the School has almost been built anew by Heydar Aliyev Foundation and provided with nice modern facilities, recommended children to study well.
President of Azerbaijan was informed children aged above 5 will be admitted from this year to the School and undertake training. Special rest room has been built for them. They will be educated by games according to their outlook on life. Children may stay here. This system has no analog in other schools.
President Aliyev was familiarized with library, 100-seat diner meeting modern standards, computer, chemistry and physics rooms, gym of the School.
The President congratulated teachers and pupils on start of new school year, Day of Knowledge and opening of new building. President was presented photo album showing previous state of the School.
Expressing gratitude to the President teachers said ‘We thank You so much for these nice circumstances You have created for us, for our beautiful Azerbaijan, for continuing the idea of Azerbaijanism of our national leader Heydar Aliyev. All this have lifted our responsibility. We promise to train in this school the youth deserving our Azerbaijan. Because they must be worthy citizens of our Azerbaijan. We understand this and will do our best. Employees of Heydar Aliyev Foundation had always been in touch with us, taken interest in our problems. Mrs Aliyeva, we deeply thank You for this.’
President Ilham Aliyev said for last years this is one of most beautiful schools in Azerbaijan. ‘I was shown previous photos of the School. That was under quite unsuitable conditions, children and teachers had much trouble. Now, there are nice conditions, it is a school of world level. So, you must educate the children well.’ President underlined.
Then, President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva, the teachers and children were taken their photos in memory.
