Heydar Aliyev Foundation worthily represents Azerbaijan in International Festival ‘BibliObraz-2007’

International Festival ‘BibliObraz-2007’ organized in Moscow under patronage of First Lady of Russia Lyudmila Putina ended on October 11. Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP, provided an active support to this forum.

The Festival brought together 22 countries of the world, including Azerbaijan, Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, India, Kyrgyzstan, Slovakia, USA, Estonia, some other countries from Europe and Asia. Every country was represented with stands consisted of thematic expositions, individual programs, interactive discussions, creative shops, meetings with famous writers and figures of art.

Azerbaijan prepared a rich program with participation of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, multilaterally represented the past and present, rich culture of the country. According to the participants of the Festival, stand ‘Azerbaijan’ was most interesting and rich. It included works of Azeri literature classics, new books and multimedia items published due to support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, handmade dolls, home things, unique national musical instruments and costumes. 

Within the Festival, film ‘Friend’ by young director Lala Akhundova was presented. A film talking of friendship between a boy and a foal was appreciated by Moscow schoolchildren. L.Akhundova talked to children about her creativity, the role of literature and art in contemporary world. Then, participants were given DVD version of the film. 

Parts from story ‘Melikmammad’ performed by actors of Azerbaijan State Pantomime Theater were specially interesting. At least all participants of Festival were seeing the play. Costumes of the story’s characters sewn on the order of Heydar Aliyev Foundation will be presented to School 157 with Azerbaijan ethnic and cultural component in Moscow.

Meeting with writers Kamal Abdulla and Chingiz Abdullayev who are famous also beyond Azerbaijan was a real holiday for participants of the Festival. Master class by C.Abdullayev in frame of the Festival became an intellectual discussion in which very important problems of contemporary literature were touched. C.Abdullayev stressed importance of protection and development of cultural dialog of countries and nations, necessity for expansion of cultural space, great importance of arranging such festivals and cultural events. According to him, outstanding reps of contemporary Azeri literature and art such writer Kamal Abdulla, director Rustam Ibrahimbeyov, ambassador Polad Bulbuloglu play the role of coordinator between two countries, directly help development of cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Russia. C.Abdullayev mentioned Azerbaijan is lucky concerning the President, because Ilham Aliyev is the politician with wide outlook who attaches big importance to humanitarian sphere.   

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu thanked First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva for coming to Moscow to attend the festival ‘BibliObraz-2007’ and Heydar Aliyev Foundation for promoting worthy representation of Azerbaijan in the Festival.

Works of famous artists of Azerbaijan Elmira Abbasly and Galena Churilova were warmly welcomed by the participants. They gave master class ‘Story-like firework’ on making dolls for school puppet shows and patterning on the silk. Master class ‘Colorful rain’ by artist Nusrat Hajiyev based on story ‘Melikmammad’.

Performance by band led by famous musician Hasanaga Sadygov that played beautiful folk melodies in the Festival days was highly appreciated.
