Protection and development of our national and cultural legacy became one of the priorities in 2005 for President of Azeri Culture Friends Foundation Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva. Gracefully made `Garabagh singers` music album consisted of the best samples of our national art of singing was released by initiative of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva in frame of `Mughams of Azerbaijan` project, which caused big interest in several foreign countries as well. Starting the construction of International Mugham Center in National Park, the nicest corner of Baku, and fundamental repair and restoration of famous Pir Hasan sanctuary in Mardakan where valuable representatives of our people have been buried indicates to the sensitive care of Mrs Aliyeva to our music culture and national-cultural values.

Realization of wide conferences in Paris and Baku on the theme `UNESCO-Azerbaijan: bridge to future`, close familiarization of UNESCO representatives with state of IDP settlements and schools in Sabirabad, Saatly and Imishli districts in order to make report to this prestigious body concerning the education problems of refugee and IDP children were organized on the initiative of Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva.

In frame of the program `Development of children homes and boarding schools` a number of institutions where children needing special care are trained were fundamentally restored in level of modern requirements and equipped with necessary appliances.

The program considering the construction of new buildings for 132 schools located in cities and districts of the republic that were in unsuitable state was carried out last year.

The project implementation of which commenced last year on assurance of access of blind and visually impaired persons to IT is the idea of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva.

Popularity of this discipline of sport that contains slimness, beauty, power and art is lifted in our country due to the works done under leadership of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva as President of Gymnastics Federation of the republic.
