International conference `Azerbaijan: Past and Present in Dialogue between Civilizations` ended

International conference `Azerbaijan: Past and Present in Dialogue between Civilizations` has come to an end on April 21.


In the last day of the international conference two meetings were held in `Transcultures and frontiers` and `Hegemony and domination` sections. Lectures and speeches were made on `Azerbaijan and Eurasia integration`, `Transcultural traps in frontiers of empire: Same frontiers with Islam in Eurasia nowadays`, `Caspian Sea and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline`, `Diversity and pluralism in time of hegemony`, `Globalization and assignment of universities`, `Expecting post Islamism`. Figures of education, science and art from different countries exchanged views upon the themes, held talks and discussions on scientific-religious, cultural-political topics.


A view was emphasized at the end of the conference that Azerbaijan situated in the center of Eurasia is the place where the best traditions of East and West cultures are connected. Relationship here between religion and state, mutual ties of religions, work experience with religious communities and bodies, tolerance, relations among cultures in globalization era is appreciable and original. The country possesses rich experience in this field. All this caused special interest of reps of various countries.


Conference participants said they were deeply impressed by the meeting with President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady of the country, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, expressed confidence for further continuation and development of cooperation established between Latin Culture Academy and Heydar Aliyev Foundation.


The guests expressed please for high-level organization of the event.


After the conference ended the guests toured Icherisheher, were familiarized with Surakhani Ateshgah, ancient images on the rocks in Gobustan.
