First lady of Azerbaijan, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva was awarded the “First Lady of the Year” prize

According to the results of the survey conducted by influential Turkish economic and business world publication “Ekovitrin”, First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva was announced the winner on the nomination “First Lady of the Year” by the results of 2011. 


Opening the ceremony of presenting the Prize at the Green Park Hotel in Istanbul, owner of the “Ekovitrin” magazine Kamran Abachioghlu welcomed the laureates and guests, and gave detailed information of the survey conducted by the magazine. It was informed that the survey had continued for two months, and 25,1562 votes were  cast for 102 persons of politics, business and art on 34 nominations. After the voting, which had lasted for two months, stars of the year were determined.


Under the lasting applauses of ministers, representatives of international organizations, members of parliament and influential businessmen of Turkey and of the world gathered in the hall, Mr. Anar Alakbarov, the Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, recived the “First Lady of the Year” Award, which First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva was honoured with,  from  Secretary General of the Islamic Cooperation Organization Ekmaladdin Ihsanoghlu and Kamran Abachioghlu.


At the ceremony, Turkish minister of Culture and Tourism Artoghrul Gunay was awarded a prize in the “Minister of the Year” nomination, and Secretary General of the Islamic Cooperation Organization Ekmaladdin Ihsanoghlu was awarded the “International Diplomacy” Prize.


Rectors of influential Turkish universities Mustafa Aydin, Sezer Shener, owner of the “Chalyk Inshaat” company Ahmad Chalyk, Istanbul’s Shishli district’s head of municipality Mustafa Sarygul and other influential persons were among laureates.
