Person and organizations of 2005 in field of children rights protection and propaganda declared

On the eve of Children Protection International Day a ceremony of presenting the National Public Award 2005 was held for the first time within project `Let us pay attention to every child` on May 29 at Muslum Magomayev State Philharmonic in order find out the organizations and persons functioning in field of study and settlement of children problems, propaganda and protection of children rights.

The event was organized by State Committee for Family, Woman and Child Problems, UNICEF, Union of Europe and Child Rights Azerbaijan NGO Alliance.

In the ceremony chairman of State Committee for Family, Woman and Child Problems Hijran Huseynova, head of UNICEF Permanent Office to Azerbaijan Hana Singer, national coordinator of Child Rights Azerbaijan NGO Alliance Nabil Seyidov informed of works done in frame of the project, that the organization defined winners on 7 nominations.

President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva took `Person of 2005 in field of Child Rights Protection and Propaganda` Award for her services in field of health, high-level training and education of children and their possession of our national spiritual values.

Education Ministry was declared `Best state organization of 2005 in field of child rights protection and propaganda`, `Hopeful Future` Youth Organization - `Best NGO`, `Ayna-Zerkalo` newspaper - `Best press agency`, `Save The Children` Organization - `Best international organization`, Public TV and Radio Broadcasts Company - `Best TV-Radio program` and `Azercell` Joint Venture - `Best philanthropic private company`.

Governmental officials, MPs, NGO heads and public reps were present in the event.
