Delegation led by Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko visit Heydar Aliyev Foundation

Delegation led by Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko visited the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, April 9.


Informed of the goals and actions of the Foundation established in the memory of the Azerbaijani people`s national leader Heydar Aliyev, Valentina Matvienko was told the Foundation studies and promotes the national leader`s rich heritage, implements socioeconomic and humanitarian projects to support Azerbaijan`s progress, development of culture and study of history.


The Russian guests saw pictures and exhibits taken from the archive of Heydar Aliyev and embracing the very different aspects of his activities, documents covering the various moments of his life and giving a comprehensive idea of the entire history of Azerbaijan, gifts presented by world-known politicians, books dedicated to the national leader, visions said by prominent figures of science, culture and art on the founder of the state of Azerbaijan, his photographs with leaders of different countries, a model of BTC main oil export pipeline named after Heydar Aliyev, the fruit of the national leader’s intellect.


V.Matvienko signed the Foundation`s guestbook.


Then, keepsakes were exchanged.


Expressing gratitude to Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the warm welcome, the Chairperson of the Federation Council said national leader Heydar Aliyev`s memory is deeply revered in Russia. She said she has a comprehensive information on Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s activity and highly values it. She underlined the Foundation actively participates in a number of social projects implemented in Russia by NGOs. Mrs. Matvienko expressed hope the Foundation will be contributing to the development of the humanitarian projects between Russia and Azerbaijan. On the Eurovision Song Contest to be organized by the Foundation, the Chairperson said the guests will witness the development of modern Azerbaijan.
