Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva was awarded the title of “Patroness of the Turkic Culture”

The results of the poll “Serving the Turkic World - 2012” held following the initiative of the newspaper “Turkistan” and with support from some 20 organizations were unveiled.

Chief Editor of the newspaper “Turkistan”, chairman of “Common Values” Public Union Agil Jamal informed that in an poll held in 3 categories – culture, education and politics - respondents were asked to express their views on the process of integration among Turkic states.

A total of 37 525 respondents participated in the poll. Names of some 60 persons and entities on 3 nominations were indicated by respondents. Among them, there are well-known persons of politics, science and culture, members of parliament, masters of art and journalists.

Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva was awarded the title of “Patroness of the Turkic Culture” - first nomination of the poll- for protection and promotion of Turkic culture.
