A theoretical and practical conference devoted to the 90th jubilee of Heydar Aliyev took place in Bucharest

A theoretical and practical conference on the theme of “Heydar Aliyev and Independent Azerbaijan” devoted to the 90th jubilee of Heydar Aliyev took place in Bucharest with joint organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Heydar Aliyev Center and Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Romania.


Organized at the Romanian Parliament’s building, the event was attended by public and political, cultural and science persons, senators, deputies, professors and teachers of leading universities of Romania, Azerbaijani students and members of the Turkish and Tatar community.


Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Representative Office in Romania Ilgar Hajiyev talked of the national leader’s rich and interesting course of life, humanitarian and cultural projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Romania.


Delivering a speech at the conference, Ambassador Eldar Hasanov talked of Heydar Aliyev’s matchless services towards preserving, strengthening the country’s independence and building a secular state, and the  flexible and pragmatic policy pursued by him for our country’s integration into the world society and Euro-Atlantic structures. The Ambassador noted that as a continuation of Heydar Aliyev’s political course, progressive reforms are being carried out today towards modernization, building democratic and legal state and civil society.


E. Hasanov brought to attention that by decisions of the Romanian government and parliament Heydar Aliyev’s memory was eternalized, along with Charles de Gaulle, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, and a park-alley laid in the name of Heydar Aliyev and his bust erected.


Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center’s Humanitarian and Social Affairs Department, professor Vugar Mammadov made an extensive speech about Heydar Aliyev’s life and political activity, and talked of the role of Heydar Aliyev’s legacy and philosophy of statehood in the promotion and keeping Azerbaijan’s rich history, language, culture, national and moral values alive, and development of various areas of science, education, culture, environment and economy.


Delivering a speech at the end, first Ambassador of Romania to Azerbaijan, now Director of the Babesh-Bolyay University’s Turcology and Central Asia Research Institute currently located in the city of Cluj Tasin Jamil shared his impressions about Heydar Aliyev as a genius political person and historical personality. He said that while carrying out his diplomatic mission  in our country he witnessed Heydar Aliyev’s policy concerning Azerbaijan’s multilateral development and foreign policy opened to the world, and that his observations have profoundly influenced on his experience.


Emphasizing the special contribution made by Heydar Aliyev to the development of historical friendly relations between Romania and Azerbaijan, T.Jamil mentioned the successes of his practical endeavours in rapprochement of Black Sea and Caspian Sea regions, realization of projects like restoration of the historical Silk Way and building cultural bridges between our nations. It was emphasized that sincere friendship relations between the Heads of our states, former Presidents Ion Iliesku, Emil Constantinescu and Heydar Aliyev had become a tradition, and this friendship relations were successfully continued by Presidents Trayan Basesku and Ilham Aliyev and this factor played significant role in lifting these relations to the level of strategic cooperation.


Then a documentary prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation about Heydar Aliyev’s life and activity was demonstrated and the participants viewed the photo stand “Heydar Aliyev 90:90 Moments of Life” prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Center.
