Children from Pakistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russian Federation and other countries have been invited to the Festival to be held on June 1st – the International Day of Protection of Children.
On May 30 will also take place inauguration of another project – the 3rd International Exhibition “From Waste to Art”.
To be held following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative, and with the organizational support of “Clean City” Open Joint-stock Company, supported by IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) Public Association, “Icherisheher” State History and Architecture Reserve Department and “QGallery” Art Gallery, the exhibition will demonstrate various samples of art made of domestic waste. Works of artists from USA, Austria, Great Britain, Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, Czech Republic, Cuba, Columbia and Japan will be presented at the exhibition, along with those of Azerbaijani artists.
Organization of this event, which is going to be already the third one, in Qala Settlement is not by chance. Since 2010, following the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, “Clean City” OJSC has been implementing the pilot project “Clean Qala” to build waste management in the settlement in compliance with modern standards. The objective of the project is to organize collection, transportation and recycling of wastes in Qala settlement in a sorted fashion. In accordance with this project, in addition to timely collecting and transporting wastes, various containers have been put in Qala settlement in order for the villagers to sort the waste by organic and non-organic wastes.
In order to ensure participation of everyone who wants to watch the exhibition to run until June 3rd, bus tours will be arranged from “Gosha Gala” gates of Icherisheher twice a day (at 12:00 and 15:00).
