“Blood has no nationality” Action takes place in Moscow following the initiative of Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva

On June 16, traditional annual “Blood has no nationality” Action took place in Moscow to mark the World Donors Day. Organized following the initiative of Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, AYOR’s Chairperson Leyla Aliyeva, this humanitarian action took place at the Clinical Transfusion and Haematology Department of the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (FMSMU).

 

Being a part of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s project aiming to help patients in need of blood transfusion at Moscow’s healthcare institutions, this action was joined by students from Azerbaijan, Malaysia, Greece, Uzbekistan, Georgia and China. Within the framework of the action, some 100 people donated their blood. In addition to FMSMU students, employees of the dean’s office for foreign students affairs and of the international relations department, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Russia, the Russian Representative office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and AYOR members participated in the action.

 

Organized on the basis of medical specialization higher schools, the “Blood has no nationality” humanitarian action is regularly held also in other regions of Russia. Moreover, donor students are helping those in need of blood in other countries too, by organizing multilateral medical support events in countries of Asia and Africa.
