A meeting takes place with students of the University of Languages of Azerbaijan within the framework of the international campaign “Justice for Khojaly”

On February 19, following the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, the vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, a chief coordinator of the Islamic Cooperation Organization’s Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation, presentation took place at the University of Languages of Azerbaijan (ULA), within the framework of the international campaign “Justice for Khojaly”, launched on May 8, 2008. Information was given at the meeting about the events arranged in various countries within the framework of the international campaign “Justice for Khojaly”, as well as works carried out towards worldwide enlightenment of the Khojaly genocide. 

 

“Justice for Khojaly” International Campaign Public Union arranges presentations at state entities, youth organizations and higher education establishments with a view to increasing the efficiency of agitation works by state entities and public organizations, and strengthening the coordination of this activity. 

 

Acting rector of ULA Dunyamin Yusifov said Armenia has committed one of the most horrible and merciless acts of genocide in the history, and emphasized the importance of conveying this to the attention of the international society. He also underscored the special role of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in conveying the true facts about Azerbaijan to the world. The rector called to participate in the activity aimed to disseminate the information about Armenia’s aggression policy, and the Khojaly tragedy.

 

Representative of “Justice for Khojaly” International Campaign Public Union Farid Jafarov said the parliaments of a number of states have officially recognized the Khojaly tragedy as a genocide and condemned Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan. Memorials and monuments have been erected to the victims of the genocide in Netherland, Germany, Turkey, Mexico, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.      

  

It was informed that various agitation and enlightenment materials have been prepared so far, dedicated to the Khojaly genocide. A film dedicated to the Khojaly genocide, made with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, was shown at the event.
