Foundation of the Emergency Centre to be constructed with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s support in Bosnia and Herzegovina is laid

On May 7, the ceremony of laying the foundation of a new building of the Emergency Centre to be constructed with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Kotor Varosh city of Bosnia and Herzegovina took place.

 

The ceremony was attended by executive director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov, mayor of the city of Kotor Varosh Zdenko Sakan, deputy mayor Mladen Trivunovich, president of the Municipal Assembly Ibrahim Palich, director of the Healthcare Centre Vladimir Bibich, employees of Azerbaijan’s diplomatic corps in this country, a number of officials of the President Administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and representatives of the local public.

 

Speaking at the event, Anar Alakbarov conveyed warm greetings of Azerbaijan’s First Vice-president and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva to the attendees. He mentioned that, along with Azerbaijan, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been implementing projects in the sphere of healthcare, education and culture in various countries of the world, and does charitable works.

 

In Azerbaijan, where religious tolerance is dominating, numerous religious temples were repaired and restored in the framework of the projects realised by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, along with restoring historical architectural monuments, and regular conferences and forums were held to promote multiculturalism and tolerance.

 

It was noted that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country having friendly relations with Azerbaijan, and that deep mutual ties exist between the two countries. The projects implemented by the Foundation will allow expansion of the relations between our countries and peoples.

 

Mayor of the city of Kotor Varosh Zdenko Sakan and director of the Healthcare Centre Vladimir Bibich in their speeches appreciated significant social and humanitarian projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in various countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a sign of solidarity between our peoples, and emphasized the significance of the Emergency Centre - of which foundation is laid today in the city of Kotor Varosh as a result of the benevolent activity - for the local public.

 

It was mentioned that, based on the request made by chairperson of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanich to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation with respect to implementing a series of socially- and healthcare oriented projects, a decision was taken on construction of a new building for the Emergency Centre under the Health Centre in Kotor Varosh city, which had fallen into disrepair.

 

An agreement was signed, January 2017, between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the City Hall of Kotor Varosh and the Health Ministry. In accordance with the agreement reached between the parties, provision was made for the construction of a new two-storied building for the Emergency Centre and providing it with necessary equipment with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

 

Then the foundation of the Emergency Centre under the Healthcare Centre of Kotor Varosh city was laid.

 

Commissioning of the centre is scheduled for the end of this year.

 

After the ceremony of laying the foundation, Executive Director of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Anar Alakbarov met with Chairperson of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanich in Sarajevo city.

 

Information was given at the meeting about the projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Azerbaijan, and the chairperson of the Presidium was invited to take active part in future forums to be held in Baku.

 

Mladen Ivanich took interest in projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. He thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva for the attention shown towards construction of a new building for the Emergency Centre in Kotor Varosh city of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

Expressing his gratitude for the relations with Azerbaijan relying on friendship and cooperation, M.Ivanich highly appreciated our country’s integration into Europe and being open to the whole world as a tolerant country.

 

To date, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has realized a series of projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A Friendship Park was laid out in Sarajevo and a monument erected to the victims of the Khojaly genocide, following the initiative from the Foundation. In the framework of the campaign “Justice for Khojaly”, initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, a series of events, including an international conference, were arranged in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

The centre for children and youth with impaired vision in Sarajevo was reconstructed following the initiative and with support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. In 2013, inauguration of the centre took place with participation of Vice-president of the Foundation Leyla Aliyeva.

 

Projects implemented are of significance from the point of view of expanding relations between our countries and peoples, as well as conveying true facts about Azerbaijan in foreign countries.
